We are Victoria Ann Bridal. A bridal team from Weymouth with one goal in mind!
Our inspiration came in 2018 when Ann was looking for a wedding dress for her own wedding of July 2019. During our search we had approached so many retailers and everywhere we tried, the assistants would bypass Ann and assume her daughter was the bride.
Mother of the bride seemed to be the only option. And although there were some wonderful choices, they just didn’t say ‘bride’. A modern bridal gown was also not the desired dress of choice for the more mature lady. After months of searching, it was clear Ann would not find what she had in mind. So, the only option was to have it made.
“It can’t be this difficult” we said one day over lunch.
“A shop that offers both bridal and mother of the bride is what we need!”.
And that is where the dream began……
Over the last year we researched endlessly. We wanted to get it right from the start! We travelled across the country to do training courses and to meet our suppliers. Where we handpicked all our own gowns. The wheels were in motion, and it was all very real and very exciting.
We finally found a shop in Weymouth large enough to suit the needs of what we believe would be the perfect bridal shop, so we planned the layout, selected the colour scheme and decoration and then got to work. We helped where we could with the vast amount of work that was needed, Ann’s husband and other amazing family members have helped with the decorating, carpentry and plumbing and it is now how we envisioned it would be.
Our goal is that we will have something for every bride to be, mother of the bride and groom, bridesmaid, flower girl and every young lady preparing to attend their prom, without applying “labels” or “categories” to anything we can supply!
Unfortunately, we live in a world where everyone is so judgemental, but we are not here to judge you! We are here to look after you and help in any way we can. We don’t specify ‘petite’ or ‘plus’ sizes. There’s no labels here. We just do ALL sizes. And with such a wide range of choices, we believe we have something to suit every bride to be.
This has become a real passion to us, and we are extremely excited to see where our new venture takes us. So please consider us when choosing your wedding gown, mother of the bride and groom, bridesmaid, flower girl or prom. These occasions can be quite stressful, but if we can take just a little bit of that stress away, we’d love to do so.
